Through the SBS Transit Undergraduate Scholarship, Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS) and Singapore Rail Industry Scholarship (SGRail), you will embark on a dynamic and rewarding career, guided by industry leaders and experts across diverse fields.

1. SBS Transit Undergraduate Scholarship

The SBS Transit Undergraduate Scholarship offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge, strengthen your skills and gain meaningful exposure to the public transport sector. As a scholar, you can look forward to:

Industry exposure: Overseas attachments, internship opportunities and mentorship by experienced leaders will give you first-hand insight into how the public transport ecosystem operates and develops. 

A strong foundation for a meaningful career: Through job rotations, specialised training, leadership development programmes and networking opportunities, you will build the capabilities and confidence to contribute across our bus and rail businesses. 

The opportunity to make a real difference: Beyond technical knowledge, you will play a part in enhancing daily journeys and supporting safe, reliable operations that keep Singapore moving.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Requirements
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Pre-university or undergraduate student at a local university
  • Excellent academic results in one of the following:
    • GCE ‘A’ Level
    • International Baccalaureate (IB)
    • Polytechnic Diploma
    • University results (for mid-term scholarship application)
  • Outstanding Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs)/National Service records or involvement in community activities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities 
  • Interest in the public transport sector across areas such as bus and rail operations, engineering, business development and related functions 

Field of Study

Relevant disciplines such as Engineering, Computing, or Business. (Architecture, Law and Healthcare-related disciplines are not eligible.)
Benefits
  • Tuition and compulsory university fees
  • Annual study allowance of $21,000
  • Sponsorship of either a Student Exchange Programme or Summer School (subject to approval)
  • Overseas internship attachment within the ComfortDelGro Group of companies

Conditions of Award
  • Full-term Scholarship: Four-year bond with SBS Transit
  • Mid-term Scholarship: One-year bond for every year of study sponsored

2. Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS)

The Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS) is an undergraduate scholarship for Singapore Citizens who aspire to contribute to leading organisations in key strategic sectors. Offered in partnership with the Ministry of Education, this scholarship allows you to kickstart your career in public transport at different stages of your university education, both locally and overseas.

Scholarship Schemes:

  • Full-Term (Local): For those about to begin full-time undergraduate studies at a local autonomous university.
  • Mid-Term (Local): For those currently pursuing full-time undergraduate studies at a local autonomous university.
  • Mid-Term (Overseas): For those currently pursuing full-time undergraduate studies at an overseas university.

3. Singapore Rail (SGRail) Industry Scholarship

The Singapore Rail Industry Scholarship (SGRail) develops engineering talent for the dynamic rail industry. It is centrally awarded and managed by the Land Transport Authority, on behalf of Singapore's rail sector. Rail scholars will be exposed to projects in the Land Transport Authority and SBS Transit.

The scholarship provides exposure to emerging areas such as data analytics, robotics, and automation to meet the evolving needs of the rail sector. Through different professional career tracks and career development programmes, you will have opportunities to expand your leadership skills, develop specialised expertise, and grow as a rail professional.
